Since 1997, LIVESTRONG has been working to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. The organisation started as a small group trying to raise money to fight this disease. As cancer has quietly become the world’s leading cause of death, the work of LIVESTRONG has expanded and now reaches every corner of the globe.

This September, world leaders are gathering at the UN for a historic summit on cancer and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs). The agreement they reach—and how they put it into action back home—will mean life or death for millions of people.

Lance Armstrong founder of LIVESTRONG has written an open letter to world leaders, calling on them to face up to the global cancer crisis and make NCDs a top health priority. LARCC is a supporter of his plea….

If 100,000 signers are reached before the summit, LIVESTRONG will hand-deliver this letter and the signature of supporters of this plea to the UN Secretary General and key Heads of State.

This isn’t about longshot cures or leaps of faith, LIVESTRONG are calling for proven strategies that we know will save millions of lives: increased awareness, early detection, access to treatment and ongoing care.

As a member of the LIVESTRONG community, LARCC supports the fight against cancer every day. But by signing and sharing this letter, LARCC is helping to put pressure on world leaders to make the same commitment.

The UN Summit is a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make fighting cancer a global health priority.
