Beehive Days a Great Success!
Gillian Nash (organiser) got the idea of a Beehive Reunion on account of it being The year of the Gathering – the idea came to her while watching Greatest Hits TV on saroview featuring 80’s music from the Beehive Days – she set up a Beehive Days! Facebook page and John Donlon (organiser) joined the group on fb and offered to run the event if Gillian didn’t have the time – and so it was agreed – Beehive Days! was going to happen!
The whole event gained great momentum on Facebook and in the local areas and on the night buses ran from various towns and villages and over 300 people converged on the Greville Arms Hotel in Mullingar on Friday 22nd November to enjoy some nostalgia – some were very well dressed for the occasion too!!
The organisers presented LARCC Cancer Support Centre on Tuesday morning with a cheque for €2,399.77 being the proceeds from the night after expenses – LARCC thanks everyone involved most sincerely for their brilliant donation and congratulates them on a wonderful idea. Word on the street is that everyone had a really great nights entertainment.
Thank you goes to the numerous spot prize sponsors on the night Inc. from Delvin – Day Break, Niamh Timmons, Barry’s Pharmacy, McCormack’s Stores, Michael Leonard, Caman Inn, Paddy & Geraldine Farrington, and John & Joan Donlon, along with Weirs of Multyfarnham, Lough Lene Inn Collinstown, Bartley’s Bar Drumcree, Florence Nash Drumcree, Aggie Burke of Stylemasters Mullingar and of course the Greville Arms itself. Also a big thank you to the Spice Girls who sold the tickets on the night – Maisie, Mags, The 2 Mary’s & Olive.
