High Hopes

ggg   High Hopes – Brendan Hynes

I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro this coming September in aid of an organisation that is very close to my heart, LARCC Cancer Support Sanctuary.

My own mother Olive used LARCC’s services a number of times and I got to see first-hand the positive effect this sanctuary had on her and our family.  Even though I was extremely close to my mother and we spoke about most topics in depth, when it came to her expressing her feelings about living with cancer she found it hard. Possibly she felt she was protecting us.  Each time Mam returned from LARCC she was nearly like a new woman. Mam always praised the professional services LARCC provided, the one to one counselling, group therapies and massage were her favourites and I know for sure that this Sanctuary helped her in many ways, both physically and emotionally.

The inspiration to succeed this endeavour comes from my late mother and all my departed loved ones. With this in mind, on my ascent I will carry a very Special Memorial Photo Collage of those who have passed to the summit of the highest free standing mountain in the world, way above the heavenly clouds where it will be displayed.   If you would like a photograph of a loved one(s) that has passed to be part of this Special Memorial Photo Collage I would be honoured to do this for you. After a kind donation (https://www.idonate.ie/highhopesfundraiser) please send me a photograph of your loved one(s) to highhopesfundraiser@gmail.com .

Equipped with the memories and guiding spirit of our loved ones, I will be encouraged to conquer this uphill endeavour with each step reflective of their journey to their own eternal heavenly summit.

Brendan
